Due to continuous rainfall on 2081-06-11/12 (2024-09-27/28) in most regions of Nepal, DCWC Community Hospital located in Ward No. 2 of Chaurideurali Rural Municipality, faced severe challenges. Landslides buried the roads, and the river damaged the pathways, leaving the roads in a state of total disrepair. As a result, access to the hospital became nearly impossible. Additionally, there was no electricity or communication, making it difficult for patients from nearby districts like Ramechhap, Dolakha, Sindhupalchok, and Kavrepalanchok to reach the hospital.
Without a stretcher available in the village, locals were forced to use bamboo stretchers to carry patients to the hospital. On one such day, four individuals who had been bitten by hornets were unable to reach the hospital by ambulance due to road damage. The local community struggled to carry one mother on a bamboo stretcher, while three other young students managed to walk to the hospital for treatment.
Despite these challenges, the DCWC Community Hospital remained open and provided uninterrupted care to all patients during this difficult time.
Even in the face of adversity, we stood strong, determined to be a beacon of hope for those in need.
A heartfelt thank you to our hospital team for their unwavering dedication and hard work. Your love, compassion, and commitment to humanity continue to inspire us all.
