We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Ophthalmic Assistant to support eye care services at DCWC Community Hospital. The role involves assisting in eye examinations, patient care, and basic ophthalmic procedures, particularly in a rural healthcare setting.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct eye examinations and vision testing (visual acuity, refraction support)
Conduct preliminary eye screenings and patient assessments
Administer eye drops as prescribed
Maintain and handle ophthalmic equipment properly
Record and maintain patient data and medical history
Assist in organizing eye camps and outreach programs in rural areas
Educate patients on eye care, hygiene, and treatment plans
Refer patients with critical conditions to city eye hospitals
Ensure cleanliness and proper functioning of the eye care unit
Coordinate with other departments for patient care and referrals
