On the auspicious occasion of 27th-28th Chaitra 2081 (April 9-10 2025 ), Chauri Deurali Gaupalika and Til Ganga Eye Foundation, in collaboration with the Good Vision Project, successfully organized a two-day free eye checkup camp at the DCWC Community Hospital premises.
The program was inaugurated with a warm welcome by Mahila Sadasya, Devi Maya Shrestha, Ward 2, Chauri Deurali to the 3 doctors and 7 staff members from TilGanga Eye Foundation, who were greeted with traditional khada scarves, as a mark of respect. The event aimed to provide free eye care services to the community, and it was a resounding success.
234 people availed themselves of the two-day service, including 128 women and 106 men. During the camp, 80 people were diagnosed with sight problems and provided with glasses. Similarly, 40 persons were diagnosed with cataracts, and the doctors, on behalf of TilGanga Eye Foundation and the local government, are scheduling a plan for free cataract surgeries in the near future.
The program not only worked in creating awareness of eye health but also silenced the programs on how the community comes together to provide basic services to those in need. The project of the Good Vision and local authorities will further pave the path for a future where the benefits of better health care services extend to all, irrespective of economic status. We are pleased and truly thankful that our place was chosen for this amazing free camp program. We wholeheartedly support such noble initiatives and are always ready to collaborate in organizing this type of community welfare camps in the future.
Having succeeded in this camp has brought better vision to the community. Many people who were unaware of their eye health were given a chance to improve their quality of life by receiving treatment and corrective measures in the form of glasses and cataract surgery.
Going forward, the Good Vision Project, together with TilGanga Eye Foundation, is dedicated to ensuring the continuance of such eyecare programs for underprivileged communities, thereby ensuring that no one remains behind in the journey toward the healthier ambiance.
With heartfelt gratitude, we extend our sincere thanks to TilGanga Eye Foundation, the local government, our dedicated staff, and the life saving heroes who played a pivotal role in making this camp a life-changing success.
