Free Dental Camp At Shree Khanda Devi Secondary School - September 3, 2026

A healthy smile is more than just beautiful, it is an important part of a child’s health, confidence, and everyday life. With this belief, our hospital "DCWC Community Hospital" successfully organized a one-day free school dental camp at Shree Khanda Devi Secondary School, Chaurideurali Rural Municipality–2, on September 3, 2026.

One Day, One School, 48 Smiles: Free Dental Camp at Shree Khanda Devi Secondary School

September 3, 2026 | Chaurideurali Rural Municipality–2

Led by our dental doctor, Dr. Sabina Suwal, the program focused on helping students understand the importance of oral health, identify dental problems at an early stage, and learn simple ways to protect and preserve their natural teeth.

A total of 48 students took part in the dental check-up, including 33 female and 15 male students. Along with examination and dental screening, the students were given practical guidance about proper oral hygiene, dental care, and the importance of seeking treatment before a small dental problem becomes a bigger one.

During the camp, our dental team identified a number of oral health concerns among the participating students.

The dental examination found:

  • 24 students with dental caries (tooth decay)

  • 11 students requiring scaling

  • 5 students who may require Root Canal Treatment (RCT)

  • 1 student with an oral ulcer

  • 11 students successfully received necessary tooth extraction during the camp

These findings highlight why regular dental check-ups are especially important for school-aged children. Many dental problems can be treated more easily when they are discovered early. With proper care and timely treatment, children can often preserve their natural teeth and avoid unnecessary pain and complications later in life.

Beyond the treatment itself, the camp was also an opportunity to educate students. They were encouraged to develop healthy daily habits, take their oral health seriously, and understand that caring for their teeth today can make a meaningful difference to their health in the future.

The success of this one-day dental camp was made possible through the cooperation and support of the school and its entire community.

We sincerely appreciate School Administration Head Mr. Nabaraj Paudel for welcoming the program and supporting our efforts to improve the oral health of the students. We are also grateful to Mr. Tul Bahadur Lama and the hospital management for their initiative and coordination in making this service possible.

The school administration has also expressed its commitment to helping students who require further dental care by coordinating with our hospital and encouraging them to receive the necessary treatment to strengthen and preserve their natural teeth.

Our heartfelt thanks also go to the teachers, students, school management, and school nurse Ms. Jeni Roka for their valuable cooperation throughout the program.

We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to Dr. Sabina Suwal, who led the dental service with care and dedication, and to Hospital Nursing In-charge Ms. Sarada Karki for her support and coordination in making the program successful.

Every Child Deserves a Healthy Smile

For us, a dental camp is not simply about checking teeth or providing treatment for a day. It is about creating awareness, encouraging prevention, and helping children understand that their health deserves attention from an early age. Seeing 48 students participate in the program, learn about their oral health, and receive the care they needed was a meaningful experience for everyone involved.

We believe that every child deserves the opportunity to grow up with a healthy, confident smile. Through continued community outreach and school health programs, our hospital remains committed to bringing essential healthcare services closer to the people who need them.

A small lesson today can become a healthy habit for life and every healthy smile is worth protecting.
