DCWC Community Hospital Organized A One-Day Free School Health Camp Successfully-2024


On December 13, 2024 (Mangsir 28, 2081), DCWC Community Hospital proudly organized a one-day free school health camp at Shree Ganesh Adharbhut School, marking another milestone in its ongoing commitment to community health services. This impactful event was made possible through the collaborative efforts of the hospital staff and the school management team, whose warm hospitality and unwavering support were instrumental in its success.

Camp Activities and Services Provided

Sushma Nepali, Health Assistant (HA) working at the hospital, gave information about the the dental services. Hospital has started dental department since April 11, 2024. After setting up the dental department, it has served 234 dental patient till now. Below is a detailed breakdown of the services provided:

  • Teeth Filling : 30 individuals have had their teeth filled.
  • Tooth Extractions: 76 individuals underwent tooth removal procedures.
  • Scaling: 17 individuals were provided with professional teeth scaling services.
  • Dental X-Rays: 58 individuals benefited from advanced X-ray diagnostics for accurate treatment planning.

Furthermore, the hospital is going to provide Dental services in the near future as per the demand of the community.

In addition to these services, the camp emphasized the importance of oral hygiene for children. 25 students, from preschool to grade 5, were provided toothpaste and toothbrushes, along with a brief session on how to maintain healthy oral hygiene practices.

Participation and Demographics

The health camp saw enthusiastic participation from the community:

  • Total Beneficiaries: 84 individuals
  • Gender Breakdown: 38 male and 46 female
  • Student Served: 44 students currently enrolled at Shree Ganesh Adharbhut School
  • Teacher Served: 3 staff members, including teachers, also availed of the health services

The attendance highlighted the community's eagerness to embrace health program and the hospital's ability to cater to varying age groups and needs.

Educational Session and First-Aid Support

The camp concluded with a highly informative session led by Staff Nurse Saradha Karki. She educated participants on the proper use of first-aid kits and their significance in emergency situations. As part of the event, a fully stocked first-aid box was handed over to the school to enhance their preparedness for handling minor injuries in emergency.

The event was a resounding success, thanks to the combined efforts of the hospital team, school staff, and community members.
