On 13 January 2026, Shree Kallabari Secondary School in Dudhpokhari, Sailung Rural Municipality–1, Dolakha, witnessed a meaningful and educational health initiative that brought learning beyond the classroom.
A blood group identification and awareness program was conducted for students from Nursery to Grade 10, led by Ms. Koshila Shrestha, Laboratory In-Charge of DCWC Community Hospital. With patience, care, and dedication, she spent nearly six continuous hours helping students understand the importance of knowing their blood group and ensuring each child’s blood group was correctly identified.
Throughout the program, students learned why blood group information matters—especially during medical emergencies, accidents, and blood transfusions. For many of them, this was their first experience learning about their own blood group, making the day both educational and memorable.
A total of 112 students took part in the program, including 58 girls and 54 boys. Every step of the process was handled carefully, with full attention to safety, accuracy, and the comfort of the students.
We would like to sincerely thank the entire Shree Kallabari Secondary School family—school management, teachers, and students—for their active cooperation and support, which played a key role in the success of this program. Our special appreciation goes to Ms. Koshila Shrestha for her tireless effort and commitment, and to Pharmacy Assistant Ms. Rabina Rai for her valuable support during the blood group identification process.
Programs like this help build awareness, confidence, and a sense of responsibility toward health from a young age. We hope to continue organizing similar health-focused initiatives in the future for the well-being of our students and the wider community.
